While concepts such as sustainability and carbon footprint are becoming increasingly important agenda items in the business world, companies have focused on adopting environmental practices in all their processes. In this context, a digital solution has been developed that can replace paper business cards which causes more than 6 million trees to be cut down every year.

TURKEY - While sustainability has become one of the top priorities for many businesses, traditional business processes and established habits have also started to be reviewed. Paper business cards, which have been used as an introduction tool for business life for a long time, also became a part of this re-evaluation process. While the data shows that 8 billion of the business cards printed every year are thrown away within a week, 6 million trees are cut down every year for the production of these business cards, and business cards have also been affected by digitalization. An application called Letshare was developed to digitize business card-sharing processes end-to-end.

Nilsen Balata, the owner of Letshare's idea and who created the business model, shared his evaluations on the subject, “During the epidemic, we had to reprint all our paper business cards to update our office information. We knew that paper business cards were losing their function in this period, but we had no alternative option. The idea of Letshare, a digital business card solution, emerged in this period when smartphones and innovative technologies were heavily involved in our lives, and we implemented the application with Letshare Technology Team Leader Yasin Hüseyin Kara and his team.

Digital business cards designed with templates can be shared contactless

Letshare, which offers an easy and modern version of sharing contact information powered by technology, can be downloaded and used from the application markets of iOS and Android devices. People can create their digital business cards in 10 different language options in minutes using ready-made templates and arrange them in accordance with their corporate colors. Users, who can add many fields to their digital business cards, from LinkedIn profiles to billing information, company introductions, real estate advertisements and social media accounts, can also save physical business cards from contacting lists thanks to the artificial intelligence-based scanning feature of the application. Letshare profiles can be moved to e-mail signatures and can be positioned as QR codes in online meetings thanks to the virtual background feature. Stating that the application is positioned as a personal customer relationship management solution compared to digital business cards with NFC (near field communication) card feature in the market, Nilsen Balata said, “Business cards created in Letshare can be sent in many ways such as QR code, WhatsApp, SMS, e-mail, social media, AirDrop. can be shared. Letshare also offers a comprehensive digital directory feature where scanned or shared business cards can be managed.”

A professional network expansion solution close to your location

Nilsen Balata, stating that they can differentiate them from other digital business card solutions in order to provide great benefits in expanding the business network of the participants at events and fairs, said, “On the Letshare Discover page, you can see the name, title and company information of Letshare users, whose location is 5 kilometres away. In this way, you can check whether the representative of the company you want to reach at an event is there and send a connection request to exchange business cards quickly. You can also follow the sharing and viewing statistics of your digital business card in the application. The global digital business card market is expected to reach a size of $242.3 million in 2027, with a compound annual growth of 11.2%. In order to be positioned as an important player in this market, we have signed a solution that goes beyond business card sharing and offers all the features needed for acquiring business contacts," he said.

"We add sustainability, innovation and technology to the brand value of businesses"

Stating that they have customized the Letshare application for small, medium and large-scale organizations, Nilsen Balata concluded his evaluations with the following statements: “We create special packages for the needs of companies and produce digital business card designs suitable for corporate identity. While human resources departments can manage Letshare through a special panel while creating digital business cards for their employees, we combine corporate customer relationship management with the personal networks of sales teams with the Salesforce integration. Companies can send notifications to their employees' phones via the application and see the statistics of sharing business cards. Letshare, which adds innovation and technology to the brand value of businesses, as well as a nature-friendly and sustainable effect, is an ideal solution for businesses that want to be a pioneer in the sector by adopting digital business cards and also aim to increase efficiency in processes such as sales. Businesses that reduce their carbon footprint by reducing the amount of printed paper can leave a prestigious impression by making the innovation feel in the process of meeting the other party in events such as fairs, seminars, sales talks and meetings.”
