TURKEY - While traditional methods in the education system are being left behind, the importance of technology in learning processes, which is included in the article on quality education in the Sustainable Development Goals, is increasing. While UNESCO warns that the use of technology in education should be encouraged, local educational institutions are accelerating their efforts in this context. Era College, which adopts a contemporary education approach by prioritising the technological and scientific developments of the age, is touring Turkey with its 'roadshow' tour organised to bring children together with technology and science and to provide them with fun experiences. Starting on 5 July and lasting until the end of the month, the institution tours different cities with its technology and science truck and organises interactive games, concerts, painting activities and events that families can participate in together.
Fatih Şimşek, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ERA College, which describes itself as the most technological school in Turkey, made the following statement about the event tours: "In today's world where digitalisation is becoming increasingly widespread, it is critical for students to benefit from the power of technology and to use these tools correctly and efficiently. Within the scope of the tour we organise, we ensure that children have fun and learn with our technology and science truck. Thanks to these activities, both children and parents have fun moments and family ties are strengthened."
Fatih Şimşek, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ERA College, stated that within the scope of the tour, children stepped into the digital world by experiencing new technological devices and educational tools, and at the same time enjoyed learning with interactive and educational games, "Children have the opportunity to recognise and experience artificial intelligence technologies in our activities and gain awareness in this field. On the other hand, they also learn the technologies of the future," he said and concluded his words as follows:
"We encourage children to love technology by travelling all over our country with the roadshow we organise. Starting on 5 July in Balıkesir, Erdek, we will continue our tour with İzmir, Dikili and Yeni Foça on 15-16 July. Our next stops include Aydın, Muğla, Mersin, Mersin, Ankara and Bursa. In addition to our 21 campuses in Istanbul, we will go beyond the borders of our Ankara, Bursa, Kocaeli and Mersin campuses and organise comprehensive activities for our children to discover technology with fun. We will also support them mentally, physically, psychologically, socially, academically and develop their skills. With the quality education we provide at kindergarten, primary, secondary and high school levels, we will help our students to unlock their potential and raise well-equipped individuals of the future."
