Turkish public high schools continue to prove Turkey’s success in the field of education in the international arena. The instructors working in high schools that implement the international curriculum and diploma program “Advanced Placement” had the opportunity to go to America under the leadership of the Turkish Association of Schools Implementing International Programs. At the end of the training trip, all of the Teachers who attended the workshops received an international instructor certificate.

Participation in the international curriculum and diploma program AP (Advanced Placement), which is run by the College Board, a non-governmental organization that operates to increase access to higher education, and is widely implemented globally, especially in the US and Canada, is increasing yearly. While the College Board support more than 7 million students to successfully transition to university every year, according to the latest data, the number of students registered for the AP exams alone in 2023 reached 245,000, an increase of 12.91%. Compared to the previous year.

While many students in Turkey who want to continue their undergraduate education abroad prefer schools that implement the AP program, it is known that Turkish educational institutions received approval last year to offer 33 of 38 AP courses. While the high schools that implement the AP program are mainly located in Istanbul and Izmir, the Turkish Association of Schools Implementing Programs (UP Schools Association) organized an educational tour to strengthen the Turkish education system internationally. Within the scope of the event, AP teachers from Kabataş Boys’ High School, Validebağ Science High School and İzmir Atatürk High School participated in AP workshops in Tampa, USA and were entitled to receive an international instructor certificate.

Volkan Cerrahoğlu, President of the Association of Schools Implementing International Programs in Turkey, said, “We are happy to evaluate such international level. We believe this success will contribute to further developing the Turkish education system.”
